About ‘About Almost Anything’

If there is anything that defines us, it’s creativity. We people are creative organisms.

My name is Nelson Guda, and About Almost Anything is a place where I talk about the creativity in about almost anything. I have been a scientist and an artist, a founder and an explorer, an adventurer and a parent. I’ve spent time in all kinds of creative spheres, and I’ve come to love creativity in all its forms – messy, tidy, spiritual, brutal, honest and even destructive.

I want you to join me in exploring creativity in areas that you haven’t thought about. I may dive deep into the gritty details of a scientific discovery, or I may get all philosophical on you. Or I may challenge you to re-evaluate something in your life that you thought had nothing to do with creativity. I want to make you laugh, cry, or just go hmmmm….

Beyond my endless fascination with the creative process, I am currently writing fiction. So, I’ll also be writing about my own creative process, as I draw on some of the crazy or interesting experiences I’ve had across the years to build stories.

Finally, I love community. In every place I’ve lived, I try to build community. My brief experience as a founder was focused on building a community of creators. With About Almost Anything, I want to go beyond people who think of themselves as creators and build a community of people who are fascinated with creativity.

Creativity makes our worlds rich and wonderful. It provides a bulwark against the harsh storm of reality. It is a letter, a museum, a concert, an invention, a friendship, a meal… creativity is so deeply embedded in us that we often do it without even knowing that we have been creative.
